Six Croatian wines and the story behind every glass
Wine tasting Zagreb at Time4Wine: Croatia in a glass
Croatia in a Glass is the guided wine tasting Zagreb visitors and locals can book in the Upper Town. For €35 per person, our team pours six Croatian wines at your table, three whites, two reds and a rosé, with a shot of rakija on the house.
Inside the Croatian wine tasting: three whites, two reds, one rosé
Tasting six wines in a row shows you contrasts that a single glass never will. The six come from different parts of Croatia and from different grapes, so by the last glass you’ll have a clear idea of which Croatian styles suit you.
The rakija is there for a reason. In Croatian homes, a small glass of it is how a guest gets welcomed, and we keep that habit at our tables. If it wins you over, the bar also pours plum, quince, apricot and honey rakija at €3.50 a shot.
What happens at a wine tasting with us
- Reserve. Use our online booking, or tell the team in person that you’re here for the tasting.
- Take your seat. Our team brings the wines to your table.
- Listen, then taste. As each wine is poured, our team explains where it comes from and what to look for in the glass.
- Ask anything. Questions are part of it. If a wine surprises you, ask why.
- Stay on. The konoba’s kitchen serves a full menu if you’d like to turn the tasting into dinner.

Is our wine tasting in Zagreb right for you?
It’s built for two kinds of guests. If Croatian wine is completely new to you, the team turns six unfamiliar labels into a short, friendly introduction, with no wine vocabulary needed. If you already know wine well, it’s a fast way to place Croatia’s styles next to the ones you drink at home, with someone on hand to answer the detailed questions.
And if you’re putting together a list of things to do in Zagreb, the tasting fits easily into an evening in Gornji grad.
